This past month AvantGarde CEO Rebecca Contreras and her Girls of Legacy were featured in both Fortune and Forbes magazines. The feature for the October issue focused on four “Austin Area Women, doing Extraordinary Things in ATX.” The article, “Breaking Barriers, Building Dreams”, highlights Rebecca’s determination to leverage lessons from her own inspirational life journey and create opportunities for a new generation of promising young women.
“I’m in awe of my Girls of Legacy,” says Rebecca in the article. “They’re hardworking, resilient, and have the fortitude that can take them far in life. But they need opportunities, too, opportunities that are usually only given to the more privileged in our society. That’s why this Girls of Legacy program is so meaningful—it recognizes, celebrates, and encourages the next generation of women leaders.”
